Meet Ace McKay

AceDSCF2803Hi! I'm Ace McKay; the new half to the morning show on Star 883. My family and I are very excited about moving to Fort Wayne. Just to let you know a little about me and my family.

I've been doing radio for 17 years now and LOVE IT! My wife Bethany and I have been together for 15. Our hardest year together was 2007 so we are excited about some new changes. God's blessed us in '08. We have the cutest kids (you're supposed to say that about your own kids, right…anyway). Our relationship has seen rough patches and distractions from the main thing, but our story is a real love story of faith, hope and the greatest love of our lives. God has also called us to THE FORT to start a marriage ministry which he's been stirring in us for years. I'll blog more about that sometime or you can check out our site at www.themarriageplaybook.com. She and I have been co-authoring a book together. Our story is pretty common (which we've found as we've shared it) so we want to share how God has shown up and shown off in our lives.

I've been a drummer for over 20 years and a Dad for 7. I love playing with my daughters who also feed my other passion, The Beatles. They are named Lennon and McCartney. I'm a Tennessee Vols Fan, Titan's Fan, Red Sox Fan and I raise my kids that way. I enjoy juggling and doing yo-yo's tricks! I write a weekly music column in the Huntsville Times called EAR 2 EAR. Writing is such an amazing outlet for me.

The King celebrates John O's Birthday

John O and the King

My family and I went out to dinner for Cinco De Mayo so we went to a Mexican restaurant.   Much to my surprise the entertainment at the restaurant was not a mariachi band but an Elvis impersonator. Nothing says “Cinco DeMayo” like an Elvis impersonator… this guy was good… he even had his own fan club, and they were there in force. My birthday was the next day, so naturally I had to celebrate my birthday with him. Thank you, thank you very much.
